Cayla Rosenhagen is a 15 year-old nature enthusiast and self-taught artist. As a homeschooler, she’s had the opportunity to pursue her passions and tailor her curriculum to her interests and goals. She is currently enrolled at Arizona State University and Genesee Community College to earn her Associates Degree by the time she graduates high school and hopes to become a teacher.
When she’s not out among nature or creating art, Cayla enjoys martial arts and classic literature. She and her twin sister Iris are the co-founders of the community outreach program, “Beach Bucket Brigade” and are active conservationists. Animals, most often birds, and landscapes are the subjects that Cayla most often gravitates to when
creating art. Most recently, she and Iris completed an 8’ x 16’ acrylic on canvas mounted to wood panels mural depicting an underwater scene of Long Island’s native species. The mural will be installed at the Sunken Meadow State Park nature center.
