Born and raised in the shadow of the Brooklyn Museum, I learned not only to play hide and seek with friends within its huge rooms, but also appreciated the art on the walls. My father and older sister were always sketching and I soon followed the habit.
Once I retired from a career in business and raising children, I followed both a dream of traveling and painting. I enjoy attempting to capture both the atmosphere and lights in locations where I travel.
I have always sought out continuing education courses through the years and experimented with media including oil, acrylic, water, charcoal and pastel. My painings are mostly pastels. I love the feel and texture (and mess) of this medium. I am presently attending instructions at Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn.
